Rip Roarin Sports

Rip Roarin Sports is an all-encompassing sports documentary series produced by Rip Roarin Productions airing on NBC Sports Philadelphia+. We cover stories of professional, college, high school and club athletes, teams, and coaches in the Greater Philadelphia area by diving into the background of the Philly Sports Community, highlighting their successes and how they reached them. Each 30-minute weekly episode will focus on one team or member of the sports community whose hard work has paid off and whose story deserves to be told.

Episode Content

  • Each episode contains interviews with coaches, players, school staff, parents, boosters, fans, and more.
  • Episodes can cover multiple topics, if you would like to showcase more than one sport, team, player, coach, etc.
  • Each episode is a 30-minute time slot on NBC Sports Philadelphia+ that will air multiple times.
  • Time slots include 6.5 minutes of commercials throughout, totaling 23.5 minutes dedicated to telling your story.

What You Receive

  • You will receive a copy of the episode for personal use. This can be shared on your website, social media pages, etc.
  • If desired, episode can be broken down into short clips for social media purposes.
  • We will provide you with a breakdown of who will see your episode, including: where it is aired, viewers, and more information regarding NBC Sports Philly+.

Episode Cost/How to Pay

  • Episodes/Video Marketing Content range in price from $5,000 to $15,000.
  • Episodes are funded by organization boosters, local companies supporting the program, alumni, etc. Once a contract is signed, these organizations will provide payment directly to Rip Roarin Productions.


“Title Town” Nick Russo, Head Coach of Rustin Ice Hockey
Jason Myrtetus (97.5 The Fanatic) sits down with legendary ice hockey coach, Nick Russo, as he pursues a historical sixth state championship and Flyers Cup in a row. Growing up in Western New York, Russo started playing hockey on the streets of his neighborhood before playing on an organized team at the age of eight. He went on to play as one of the 20 best players in Buffalo at 16 and became the head coach of his high school’s team at the age of 20. Even though he grew up in New York, he has made West Chester his home. Coaching at West Chester, Villanova, Neumann, Rustin, and more, he helped create a loving unified community with a passion for ice hockey. At his current coaching position at Rustin, he brought together kids from rival schools and created a team from the ground up. Now, as he pursues this historical accomplishment, he gets to tell his story of how it all came to be and where he looks to go from here.

“Grinder to Coach” Brian Voelker, Head Coach of the Drexel Dragon’s Men’s Lacrosse Team
In this episode, hosts Scott Gabrielsen and Samantha Wilson travel to Drexel University to sit down with Brian Voelker, head coach of the Drexel Dragons lacrosse team. Voelker will reflect on his years as a renowned grinder for the Philadelphia Wings, surrounded by thousands of screaming fans. He will also look back on how lacrosse has impacted his life, the relationships he’s formed along the way, and of course how he continues to grow the game in the Philadelphia area.

“McEvoy’s Run” John McEvoy, head coach of Malvern Prep’s Boy’s Lacrosse Team
In this episode, host, Scot Gabrielsen, travels to the campus of Malvern Prep School to sit down with John McEvoy. Through memories and recollections, McEvoy will discuss his years of playing at the Wells Fargo Center surrounded by thousands of screaming fans. He will also lookback on how lacrosse has impacted his life, the relationships he’s formed along the way, and of course how he continues to grow in this great game in the Philadelphia area.

“Philadelphia Wings of the 90’s and The Brawl”
This episode we sit down with former 90s players of the Philadelphia Wings. From growing up and playing locally, to playing in the Spectrum and Wells Fargo Center in front of 20,000 screaming fans, these players hold a special place in the hearts of the lacrosse community. After going on to the World Championships in 1989, ‘90, ‘94, ‘95, and ’98, many of the players went on to coach locally helping turn Philadelphia into the hotbed of lacrosse talent that it is today.
